Ellen Hunter Gans

ELLEN HUNTER GANS is a 41-time marathon finisher, IRONMAN triathlete, ultramarathon champion, and 100-mile race finisher—all things that would shock the coach from her one wildly unsuccessful year of JV track. She has also participated in The Great World Race which involved running seven marathons on seven continents in one week which she has chronicled in her upcoming book Seven Marathons. Seven Continents. One Week.

A freelance writer based in the Twin Cities, Ellen has spent more than 15 years elevating brands and telling other people’s stories. She holds advanced degrees from the London School of Economics and the University of Southern California.

Ellen lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a genetic connective tissue disorder. Her entire athletic career has been an exercise in leveraging stubbornness to compensate for what her body was supposedly never built to do.
