Integrity is the Core of Leadership

With strength of character comes strength of leadership. This universal truth sits at the core of The Character of a Leader, an in-depth look at the crucial qualities which separate ineffectual figureheads from visionary commanders. By analyzing the historical impact of principled leaders, this book showcases how their courage, passion, and initiative has inspired greatness, influenced nations, and fostered trust among their followers.

Drawing on decades of experience in intelligence work, Harry Wetherbee presents a blueprint for developing a leadership style rooted in competence, initiative and ethical decision-making, proving that true power lies not in authority—which is granted by others—but in cultivating the strength of one’s character. He offers a rare and authentic perspective on what it means to lead with character in today’s complex world.

US Navy SEAL veteran and New York Times best-selling author Don Mann declares, in the foreword, that Wetherbee’s “experiences, research, and reflections form a powerful guide to effective leadership.”

With thought-provoking questions and timeless real-world examples, The Character of a Leader can empower anyone to make a lasting impact as leaders in their communities, workplaces, and beyond.
